Our Sessions

We are insured by Birnbeck Insurance. Sessions will be led by a Forest School leader. All of our staff are DBS checked and hold an Early Years or Forest School qualification. Every session will have at least 2 team members (with the exception of Parent & Tadpoles), 1 being first aid trained. (Please see our policies and procedures document for further information.)

Sessions will include nature exploration, arts & crafts, storytelling, sensory play, music, games, den building, bushcraft and most importantly guided exploration and learning. All using the great outdoors in a fun and safe environment. Developing our children’s creativity and imagination, their resilience, team work, self-esteem and confidence.

Sessions support early years and primary learning, including areas such as understanding the world, science, problem solving and physical development.

Children will be able to do this alongside their peer groups, as we have split our sessions into quite small age groups to ensure they get the most out of the sessions:

Tadpoles and Parents:

(1-2.5 years) – 1 hour session

You can’t get a better sensory session than exploring in the woods! Sessions will be based around sensory play, balancing and movement, fine and gross motor skills, storytelling, music & games and simple craft activities with parents involved.

Tadpoles:

(1-3 years) – 1 hour session

Nurturing our toddlers curiosity, imagination and creativity. Sessions will be based around sensory play, balancing and movement, fine and gross motor skills, counting, storytelling, music & games and simple craft and building activities.

Froglets:

(2.5-4 years) – 1.5 hour session

Developing our pre- schoolers sense of adventure, self esteem and resilience. Sessions will be based around team work and independent play, fine and gross motor skills, counting, storytelling, music & games, crafts and building activities, basic bushcraft and nature exploration and knowledge.

Frogs:

(4-8 years) – 1.5/2 hour session

Cultivating our early years children’s sense of adventure, self esteem and resilience. Sessions will be based around team work and independent play, fine and gross motor skills, counting, storytelling, music & games, crafts and building activities, bushcraft and nature exploration and knowledge.

Goliaths:

(7-11 years) – 1.5/2 hour session

Focusing on further development of our children’s sense of adventure and risk taking, building their self confidence, discipline and resilience. Sessions will be based around team work and independent play, fine and gross motor skills, music & games, crafts and building activities, bushcraft and nature exploration and knowledge.
